Camphill Village Copake itself is as picturesque as can be—with its valley streams and hillside vistas. But being situated between the Catskill Mountains and the Berkshires, there’s even more countryside to explore, as well as charming towns and cities all around.
The City of Hudson offers great dining and shopping opportunities for our community, especially our young coworkers who enjoy the nightlife there. Hudson is the largest city in Columbia County, and has a flourishing arts scene and a beautiful park right on the Hudson River. To the east, we enjoy the pedestrian-friendly City of Great Barrington, MA, with its many culinary offerings and boutiques. Or we can head south to the Village of Millerton, capping off an afternoon of shopping with a pot of tea at Harney & Sons.
Here in Copake, we love to pick up some sandwiches at the General Store before heading to Taconic State Park for an afternoon of swimming or bicycling on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. A stop for some ice cream on the patio at Dad’s Diner on the way home makes for a lovely summer evening.
