What is an “intentional community”?
An intentional community is a group of people living together, who are actively pursuing a collective goal. In Camphill Village’s case, the intention of our community is to assist people of all abilities in unfolding their gifts together through shared experience, mutual support, and introspection.
What is “Biodynamic agriculture”?
Biodynamic agriculture considers all parts of a farm to be part of a singular living organism. Ideally, a biodynamic farm system is able to rely upon other parts of the organism, as well as nature, for everything it needs. This includes using compost from our households and manure from our dairy heard to nourish our plants. We use the preparations and create them using the methods developed by Rudolf Steiner, and we follow the biodynamic planting calendar to tend to our gardens, which are Demeter certified.
What does “coworker” mean?
In Camphill communities, the term coworker generally refers to residential volunteers. But since Camphill Village Copake is also an official campus of the Camphill Academy, the term coworker also includes students who are pursuing any number of programs through academy coursework.
